The importance of adequate liquid steel deoxidation was described. The requirements and methods for liquid steel deoxidation , the characteristics and applications of common deoxy elements were introduced. The deoxy mechanism of calcium, the reaction mode of non-metallic inclusions in liquid steel and the method of adding calcium were explained especially. The theoretical basis for optimizing the process of liquid steel deoxidation is provided in the future.
