Shiwan Art Pottery and Its English Translation

石湾,是我国岭南陶业的重要基地,石湾公仔因其独特的文化和艺术价值而名扬四海。在艾克西拉等前人关于文化专有项的翻译理论指导下,探讨石湾公仔的英译,旨在弘扬佛山陶瓷文化以及为当地陶瓷领域的翻译起到抛砖引玉的作用。

Shiwan is an important pottery base in Ling Nan. Thus Shiwan Art Pottery is well-known for its unique cultural and artistic value. This paper discusses the English translation technique under the guidance of strategies for culture-specific items by Aixelá and other scholars, aiming to carry forward Foshan porcelain culture as well as set a leading example for the translation of local porcelain terms.
