Study on the Puncture Depth in Acupuncture

针刺的浅深或层次是影响针刺疗效的重要环节,何时需深刺,何时需浅刺,每个层次应该采用何种刺法,《内经》中有关针刺浅深的原则有根据病位所在的层次而定针刺的深浅,根据气血的浮沉而定进针深浅,根据疾病的虚实而定疾病的深浅,即"在筋守筋,在骨守骨",而且病在皮、脉、筋、肉、骨,应分别采用相应的针刺方法。

The depth of needle insertion is the key of acupuncture efficacy. Regarding the selection of insertion depth and needling technique,it is recorded in Neijing（Internal Classic）that the depth of needle insertion relies on the location of disease,the floating or sinking of qi and blood,as well as the deficiency or excess of disease. It means that the needle is inserted deeply to the tendon if the disease is located in the ten-don,or deeply to the bone if in the bone. The needling techniques are selected in accordance with the skin, vessel,tendon,muscle or bone involved in terms of location of disease.
