西安市汉长安城北渭桥遗址出土的古船

The Ancient Shipwreck Unearthed at the Wei Bridge Site to the North of the Han Chang'an City in Xi'an

西安市汉长安城北渭桥遗址发现于2012年。2014年12月下旬,陕西省考古研究院、中国社会科学院考古研究所、西安市文物保护考古研究院联合组成的渭桥考古队在渭河北埽岸南侧积沙中发现一条已折成两段的木船（图一）。2015年3月下旬,考古队将木船基本清理完毕后对船体进行临时回填。现将古船发掘情况简报如下。

In 2014 and 2015, the Joint Wei Bridge Archaeological Team excavated the ancient shipwreck in the sand deposit to the south of the fascined bank of the Wei River at the Wei Bridge Site to the north of the Han Chang＇ an City. The shipwreck had been broken into the east and west sections and toppled into the sand; the remaining parts were the bow planks, the full-length wales, transverse beams, hull planks, ribs, etc. The unearthed artifacts showed that this ship was built in the Han Dynasty and belonged to the mature wooden plank ship type, which is the first archaeological discovery of this type in China. This ship＇ s building technique was popular in the Mediterranean area during the Roman period, therefore it is meaningful for the study on the cultural communication between Chang＇ an and Rome, which are the two ends of the Silk Road.
