The determining of desirable time and methods of shaping and pruning garden landscape trees were summarized. A sequential procedure such as observation, revolving, trimming and investigation were provided, and certain technical problems in pruning operations process were highlighted. A special introduction was made on the ＂3-step sawing＂ for the trimming of big branches with illustration. The desirable pruning time and tech- niques for the various tree species such as flowering tree, fruiting tree and stemming tree as well as bamboos were analyze with case study.
