Based on the investigation of junior high school geography teachers in rural areas of Longnan City, the article discusses the current situation of the professional development, focuses on the predicament of 'self development consciousness is not strong, professional literacy is not high, obvious occupation burnout, inadequate investment in education, personnel system needs to be improved, education and training become mere formality' in junior high school geography teachers' professional development in poor areas, and analyzes the in-depth causes.Finally put forward the corresponding solution strategies.
