Enhancing English Learning Atmosphere in Higher Vocational Colleges

高职院校英语学习氛围与英语学习的主动性和学习效率息息相关。本文以江苏工程职业技术学院为例,从课堂教学的改革和课外活动的开展两个方面来探讨如何营造浓厚的高职院校课堂内外英语学习氛围。课堂英语学习氛围的营造主要通过各种教学方式的综合运用和多样课堂活动的开展来实现,而课外英语学习氛围的营造则主要通过各种竞赛、社团、讲座等形式。结果证明,这一系列措施都有利于调动英语学习的积极性,营造浓厚的英语学习氛围。

English learning atmosphere in higher vocational colleges is closely related to English learning initia- tive and efficiency. Taking Jiangsu College of Engineering and Technology as an example, this paper explores the ways to enhance English learning atmosphere in class and out of class from the perspective of teaching reform in class and extracurricular activities. English learning atmosphere in class is enhanced by a variety of teaching methods and activities, while that after class is improved by various contests, campus societies and lectures etc. The results show that all these measures contribute to motivating students＇ English learning and enhancing English learning at- mesphere.
