相比其它以"和"为中心构建起来的音乐美学范畴,"清和"是古代音乐美学中独有的,它比"中和"更突出了音乐的审美性,比"淡和"更突出了音乐的伦理功能,"清"自身具有的哲学内涵及审美意蕴更使得"清和"在中国古代音乐美学中具有本体化的地位。

Compare with many other terminologies with“he” or harmony in music aesthetics,“qinghe” or peaceful-ness is unique in classical Chinese music aesthetics. It gives more prominence to aesthetics than “zhonghe” or neu-trality, and gives more prominence to ethic than “danhe” or emotionless. The philosophic connotation and aesthetic meaning of “qing” or peace makes “qinghe” the noumenon in the classical Chinese music.
