The paper introduces in detail the practice of ＂Common Book＂ project in Shaanxi University of Science and Technology Library from aspects of origin, progress, effects and impacts. The paper thinks that the project＇s main effects include publicizing books and attracting readers; being affirmed, studied and spread by many parties; both of library and readers being promoted and benefited. The paper thinks that the project＇s main successful experiences include choosing the books to meet the requirements of reading, con- trolling crowds and the number of people, and designing the activity carefully.
