摘要
以Kress和Leeuwen的视觉语法理论和Martinec和Salway的图文关系理论为基础,对新视野和新航线这两本英文教科书进行多模态语篇分析。研究表明,两本教材均具有多模态特征;新视野教程中各模态关系比较简单,图文关系上有待改进;而新航线教程中各模态之间搭配更为复杂,整体图片数量、种类、色彩、字体和版式丰富灵活。在此基础上对教师教学提出了建议。
Based on the theory of Visual Grammar by Kress & Leeuwen and the Image‐text Relations by Martinec & Salway ,a comparative analysis of multimodal discourses between New Headway coursebook and New Horizon English Course is made .The result shows that both the two coursebooks have the features of multimodal texts .In the New Horizon English Course ,symbols like image ,layout ,color are presented in a rather simple way and the image‐text relations need improving .In contrast ,a variety of symbolic resources are shown in a more complex method in the New Headway to construct the meaning together .Some sugges‐tions are offered to improve teaching based on the analysis .
