王叔岷先生以广博的学识、深厚的校雠学功底,建立了融贯古今的宏阔的文学史观。他既能以校雠为基点把握文学的义理,又能以校雠学为基础对作品作出融会贯通的解析。王先生的广文学观念和他的治学方法,不仅对提升古代文学研究的学术水平有重要意义,而且对纠正急功近利的浮躁学风和培养新一代从事文献整理、校勘及理论研究的人才也有巨大作用。

Mr Wang Shumin has built his concept about history of literature with his wide range of knowledge and the strength of emendation. He can not only grasp the textual criticism and philosophical connotations of literature based on emendation,and on the basis of the emendation of works to achieve mastery through a comprehensive analysis.
