民歌是劳动人民群众在劳动过程中口口保留下来的歌曲,是世世代代劳动人民内心情怀的表达,民歌的产生具有当地的地域文化特征。丰富多彩的民歌孕育着中华民族最质朴的艺术气息,正是这些具有当地特色的民歌在人们耳畔声声回旋的时候,我们似乎能看到当地的山川河流、土地沟壑,甚至是人文情怀。山西山曲也不例外,它是民歌这条大河的一条小支流,但它独具特色,展现着黄土高原的广袤无垠,抒发着当地劳动人民内心的渴望。

Folk songs are songs preserved in oral transmission by the working people in the labor process, and they are the expression of inner feelings of the working people from generation to genera- tion. The birth of folk songs has the local characteristics of local culture. Rich and colorful folk ges- tates most simple Chinese art. When listening to folk songs, people are reminded of the local mountains and rivers, land and gully, even human feelings. Shanxi folk song is no exception. It is a small tributary of the river of folk songs, but it is unique. It reveals the boundless expanse of the Lo- ess Plateau and expresses local labor people＇s asppirations.
