Severe acute pancreatitis （SAP） is a common severe acute abdominal disease,with sudden onset, urgent and criti- cal condition and more complications. The fatality rate is high with poor prognosis. Its pathogenesis and cytokines has a very close relationship. Studies confirm that traditional Chinese medicine has a significant effect on regulating related cytokines in SAP course. Study on the effects and mechanism of action of traditional Chinese medicine on cytokines in the course of SAP will bring new opportunities for the prevention and treatment of SAP.
