湘西会战以日军失败和中国军民胜利而告终,是全面抗战正面战场为数不多的一次胜仗。其原因是上下齐心协力、国共团结合作、中外陆空协同、军民共同抗敌。但由于国民党的局限性,也使得胜利大打折扣。

Xiangxi Battle ended in the failure of the Japanese and in the victory of the Chinese . It was one of the few victories in the comprehensive Anti-Japanese War . It owes to the unity and cooperation of the whole nation , the solidarity and cooperation of the KMT and the CPC , the Chinese and foreign air and ground forces together , and the unity of the army and the people against the enemy . However , due to the limitations of the KMT , the victory greatly reduced .
