Resource Dependence,Government Transparency and Economic Growth

摘要本文基于2005—2012年中国287个城市的样本数据,实证检验了地区资源依赖程度、政府透明度和经济增长之间的关系。实证结果支撑了如下结论:资源依赖降低了中国地方政府透明度;政府透明度是经济增长的驱动因素;政府透明度是"资源诅咒"问题的重要传导机制。对资源依赖程度较高地区,应当进行产业结构调整;要求地方政府提高与资源相关收入的透明度,以提高中国资源的使用效益和经济增长质量。 Based on the panel data of 287 cities in China, the paper analyzes the relationship between resource dependence,government transparency and economic growth.Empirical results show that resource dependence is another determinant of financial transparency of local governments;government transparency is one of the determinants of economic growth;government transparency is an important transmission mechanism of the resource curse .The conclusions support the policy of industrial structure adjustment and upgrading from a new perspective.Besides,local governments should improve the transparency of resource-related revenues,in order to improve the efficiency of resource utilization and the quality of economic growth.
