三线建设是20世纪六七十年代中国工业建设的重心,不仅在很大程度上改变了东西部工业生产布局和产业结构,而且也深刻地影响了中国城市化进程。出于备战考虑,东部沿海城市不仅工厂大量内迁,国家投资减少,而且城市人口的发展也受到严格控制。三线建设为内地工业发展提供了契机,并形成了一批新兴的工业城市,为内地城市现代化打下了一定的工业基础。在全国层面,六七十年代中国城市化发展逐渐与工业化脱钩,并长期处于停滞状态,三线建设是导致这一局面形成的因素之一。

The third line construction was the focus of China's industrial construction in the1970 s,which not only changed the layout of industrial production and industrial structure to a great extent,but also profoundly affected the process of China's urbanization.For the consideration of preparing for wars,not only a large number of factories in eastern coastal cities had to move to inland cities and the investment from the country got reduced,but also the development of the urban population was under strict control.The third line construction provided an opportunity for the development of the industry in inland cities and had formed a number of new industrial cities,which has laid a certain industrial foundation on the modernization of inland cities.At the national level,the development of China's urbanization in the 1960 s and 1970 s had been gradually broken off the relations with industrialization and had been stagnant for a long time.The third line construction was one of the factors leading to the formation of this situation.
