摘要
书名浓缩了文学作品的内容和精髓,具有意美、音美、形美等特征。作为文学作品的灵魂与眼睛,它承载信息,体现审美情趣,具有导读作用。接受美学理论强调读者的作用,将其置于首要地位,在理论上为探讨书名的翻译提供了一个全新的视角。本文通过研究接受美学在书名翻译中的运用,能够得到如下启示:首先,书名翻译过程中应该运用信、达、雅原则,激活书名的审美信息;其次,要把握读者的能动性,充分利用读者的预期性,吸引读者的阅读欲望;最后,要注意译名读者的接受性,利用目标语文化知识,避免产生文化误区。
Book title is the crystallization of the content and spirit of literary works. There are three characteristics for an ideal book title: beauty in sense, beauty in sound and beauty in form. Book title is the soul and eyes of a book, which carries information, reflects the aesthetic taste, and gives guidance to reading. The Reception Aesthetics puts readers on the first place and provides a new perspective to explore the translation of book titles in theory. The application of Reception Aesthetics to book title translation provides many new inspirations. First of all, when translating a title, translators should apply the principle of faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance to activate the title's aesthetic information. Next, they should grasp reader' s initiative ; make full use of reader' s horizon of expectation so as to arouse their interest. Last but not the least, they should focus on reader's acceptance and try to avoid cultural misunderstanding by using the exist knowledge in target language.
