According to the characteristics of the physical and chemical analysis laboratory in environmental monitoring center, the selection principle of equipments to be intermediately checked and several check methods were given. The checks for electronic balance and ICP-AES were taken as examples, and the check basis, procedure and criteria were presented in detail.
