Dynamic Contest and Cross-cultural Barriers in English Reading

英语阅读障碍很大程度归咎于跨文化交际过程中存在的中西文化、历史、思维模式的差异,长期以来对于缩小差距与消除障碍的探讨,基本集中于跨文化交际能力的培养和夯实,但忽视了实际操作方法的研究。本文拟就动态语境论为基础,结合关联理论,探析跨文化交际阅读障碍消除的可行性。

Barriers in English reading is largely attributed to the differences between China and western countries on culture, history and thinking mode. For quite a long time, the study on closing the gap and eliminating the barriers mainly was about the cultivation and consolidation of cross-cul- tural communication ability, with the neglect of the practical research. However, based on dynamic contest theory and combined with relevance theory, this article tries to explore the feasibility of elim- inating cross-cultural barriers in English reading.
