Polish poet Wistawa Szymborska is awarded Nobel Prize for Literature in 1996.Her poetry is remarkable for its insight to theminor and unimportant things, and its capability to endorse the aesthetic principle of lightness.Despite the fact that Szymborska is al-ready a world-renowned poet, there has been little critical attention to her poetry in China.Based on a close reading of Szymborska' spoems, this essay studies the principle of lightness, the representation of others and feminist paradigm endorsed in her works. From thetextual analysis, the study argues that Szymborska fully and ironically subverts the rigid boundaries between the subject and the object, the human and the nonhuman, which further provides new ways of women' s writing.
