To analyze the factors influencing low income commuters'activity-travel behavior and reveal the mutual mechanism between activity and travel,a structural equation model was utilized to estimate these relationships based on Nanjing residents'one day activitybased travel survey.Statistics indicate that low income commuters are more likely to conduct subsistence activities and have fewer propensities to make maintenance activities and leisure activities. They make more simple work chains and choose moped to travel more frequently.Model estimation results show that individual and household sociodemographics and accessibility exert significant impacts on activity participation, trip generation and mode choice of low income commuters. There also exist strong interrelationships between activity-travel attributes.Socio-demographics and accessibility have indirect influences on trip generation through activity participation.Mode choice is mainly affected by socio-demographics and trip generation directly.
