Goodbye, Columbus written by Philip Roth depicts the dilemma of cultural identity that the Jewish migrates underwent in America, including different religion and contradiction in values. The reason is that the supremacy of Anglo-Protestant culture made Jewish Americans abandon their national traditional cultural view, eliminate their identities, reject and despise people of their nationality, which contributes to the failure to integrate their Jewish identity with their American identity. To solve this problem, the minorities should participate in the building of American cultural identity in an equal way.
