The rise and development of the northern nationalities during the Five dynasties' alternation

五代时期,中国北方分布着汉、契丹、沙陀、吐谷浑等众多民族或其分支。北方诸民族在中原政权更迭,军阀割据,社会动荡的背景下寻找发展时机,拓展生存空间,壮大自身力量,呈现出多彩多姿的活跃局面。各民族间的经济、文化交流进一步加强,中原文化的凝聚力进一步凸显。

In the period of the Five Dynasties,Han,Khitan,Shatuo,Tuyuhun and many other nationalities or their branches were distributed in the North of China.There often appeared the regime change and warlords in each nationality at the Central Plain.So the society was turbulent.And under the circumstances,these northern nationalities searched for the chance of development.Besides,they also expanded their living space and strengthened themselves.As a result,the situation turned out to be splendid and positive.Also the economic and cultural communication of each nationality was promoted.These changes highlighted the cohesion of the Central Plain’s culture.
