作为“意象”的都市:从老城区到五大道

"Image" of the City:From the Old City Porper to Five Avenue

都市意象作为物质城市在公众观念上的综合反映,既是一种客观的存在,又具有强烈的建构性特征,是城市文化的有机组成部分。20世纪初天津城墙的拆除与现代城市的转型,不仅构建了现代天津城市的基本格局,而且为都市意象的形成奠定了基础。以老城区的拆迁改造为契机,老城意象获得完整呈现实现对城市整体指代的同时,也在对"奇"与"俗"的追求中堕入歧途。作为城市异质空间的租界区,一方面通过"五大道"的再命名进行自我救赎,在现代性的向度上建构与其建筑风貌和人文内涵相一致的意象形态,另一方面以相同的叙事语法讲述都市传奇,接续和转换老城区的传奇故事。都市意象不仅在五大道中获得复活与重生,而且为城市赋予个性化的身份认同。

For the public, urban image as a material city is a kind of objective existence, and has a strong feature of the construction, being an organic part of the city culture. The demolition of the city walls at the beginning of twentieth Century and the transformation of the city not only constructed the basic pattern of the modern city of Tianjin, but also laid foundation for the image of the city. With the transformation of the old city as an opportunity, the old city image has achieved on the whole the city style. Simultaneously, it tends to get lost in the pursuit of peculiar and vulgar tastes. As the urban spatial heterogeneity of the concession area, on one hand it got the ＂Five Avenue＂ renamed as self salvation , constructing the consistency of modern architectural style and the humanities connotation image, and on the other hand it tells the urban legends in the same narrative way, legends of continuity and change the old city. Urban？images not only？get resurrectionary and？reborn by way of the？Five Avenue,？but also get identified for the city’s own characteristics.
