摘要
词汇教学是大学英语教学的重要组成部分。学生对多义词的掌握程度影响其习得词汇的数量和质量,也在一定程度上决定了大学英语词汇教学的成败。本文拟用英国语言学家利奇提出的词语意义的七种类型理论阐释英语多义词的构词原理,论证显性课堂词汇教学的合理性和必要性,说明词汇理据解析是大学英语多义词教学的较佳途径。
Vocabulary teaching plays an essential role in college English teaching. How well students master polysemy determines their quality acquisition of English words. Therefore,it can be seen as an index of college English vocabulary teaching.This paper is intended to interpret internal relations of meanings of polysemy based on seven types of meaning proposed by British linguist Geoffrey Leech,who expounds and proves that only with teachers’ clear explanation of the inner links between meanings of polysemy can students acquire the target words efficiently.
