"North Dakota Tetralogy" by Louise Erdrich not only reveals the sufferings of native American women caused by white racism and male chauvinism, but also it remolds strong women images maintai- ning family's integrity and harmony, sticking to Indians' traditions and culture, and guiding the younger generation with split identity to return to completeness. Erdrich advocates the harmony and coexistence be- tween men and women, the native Americans and the white, as well as all the creatures on the earth. She explores the way of realizing this ideal social pattern through blurring and transcending gender and race. And feminist tendency can be found in her writing.
