《长恨歌》与白居易左拾遗翰林学士转任考

The Relationship Between the Everlasting Regret and Bai Juyi's Promotion to Hanlin Academician

白居易任职盩厔县尉仅一年半即转任左拾遗翰林学士,由低级官吏升任清望朝官,这一快速升迁的经历不同寻常。一般认为白居易是因讽喻诗创作而为宪宗所发现并召入翰林的,但白居易此前只创作了十几首讽喻诗,也并无讽喻诗创作的自觉意识,不可能因讽喻诗的创作受到提拔。他在任职盩厔尉时期因创作《长恨歌》而名动天下,此诗所展示出的文学才华及其题材与宪宗本人关注点的契合,才应是白居易被宪宗发现并提拔的真正原因。

BaiJuyi ＇ s promotion from deputy magistrate of Zhouzhi County to be a Hanlin Academician took noly one year and a half. It is generally believed that his promotion was due to his satirical poems being discovered by Tang Xianzong. In fact, BaiJuyi had had no conscious idea to write satirical poems and had only created not more than a dozen before his promotion. On the contrary, it was his creation of the Everlasting Regret when he worked as the deputy magistrate of Zhouzhi County that won him great fame. This poem displayed Bai Juyi＇s brilliant literary talent and the theme it expressed corresponded with Xianzong＇s then attention, which is the real reason of Bai Juyi＇ s promotion.
