The New Exploration of Causes of the Rise of West Europe Cities in the 11th—13th Century

11—13世纪西欧城市的兴起在西欧经济发展史上具有突出的地位。伴随着西欧社会人口的增加,城市兴起并得到发展,不仅表现为城市规模的扩大,还体现在城市经济的繁荣。产生这种现象的原因是多方面的,其中城市人口增长带来的居民生活需求高涨、农业生产中技术的改进、手工业生产技术的突破和货物运输技术的革新共同构成了西欧11—13世纪城市兴起的基本动因。

The rise of the West Europe cities in the 11th—13th century played an important role in the development of the West Europe cities.In this period,cities were reviving with increasing of social population.It was reflected by expansion of city scale and by proliferation of city economy.Various factors led to those phenomena.The expanding demand of citizen＇s living,improvement of agricultural technology,breakthroughs of productive technology of crafts and innovations of transportation technology consisted of the foundational causes of the rise of the West Europe cities in the 11th—13th century.
