Conversation and Integration:Research on Chinese Modernism and Realism in the 1980s

1949年以来,现实主义在我国文坛上一直处于主潮的位置,而现代主义被极度的边缘化。但是新时期开始以后,这两种文学潮流和文学观念呈现出融合之势。一方面,现代主义利用"现实主义化"的策略向现实主义靠拢;另一方面,现实主义也通过一系列的讨论向现代主义敞开。二者的融合有利于文学创作和文学观念的多元化,但也要警惕过度融合带来的概念边界的模糊。

Since 1949,realism has played a significant role in Chinese literature while modernism has been marginalized badly.However,after a short period,the two literary tendencies began to integrate.On one hand,modernism uses modernization to draw close to realism,and on the other hand,realism unfolds itself to modernism by a series of discussions.The integration of modernism and realism is beneficial to diversification of both literary creation and literary conception.However,it is important to alert ourselves to the vague conceptual boundary that is caused by their overly integration.
