翻译原型论视角的“道”的英译

Translations of “Dao” from Perspective of Prototype Approach to Translation

基于家族相似性的翻译原型论的主要观点是强调翻译原型的整合性和翻译样例的无限拓展,主要思路是从翻译原型范畴观来探讨翻译定义、翻译原则和翻译标准等翻译本体问题。在寻求文献理论依据的同时,翻译原型论系列研究尝试实施《道德经》首章首句"道"的英译问卷调查实证研究,通过调查译界专家学者对若干译文的评价来验证翻译原型论的解释力和可操作性。问卷调查结果发现,译界学者的翻译批评视角与翻译原型论视角下的翻译标准和翻译样例观在一定程度上互为印证。

The Prototype Approach to Translation highlights the integral features of translation prototype and its translation exemplars with the aim of exploring translation definition, principle and criteria in light of Wittgcnsteinian philosophy and cognitive science. Among the series of pertinent studies on Prototype Approach, its explanatory power and operability can be verified through theoretical studies in combination with case studies of translations of ＂Dao＂ in Daodejmg. The present study seeks theoretical evidence of Prototype Approach from experts in translation studies and translating through questionnaire survey, finding correspondence between the present perspectives of translation criticism and the perspectives of translation criteria and translation exemplars within the Wittgen-steinian Prototype Approach to Translation.
