From Literary Tone to Ordinary People's Language: A Reexamination of Style Changes after the Yan'an Symposium on Arts and Literature

本文从中日战争中全民族文化反思和重构的历史视野出发,重新讨论延安文艺座谈会前后,延安文艺语言风格所发生的转型,揭示这一转型并非单纯的语言风格、表达习惯的变更,而是呼应着中国现代文化转型与文化权力重构而出现的带有历史本质性的文化问题。

The paper reexamines, from the historical perspective of wholesale cultural reflection and restruction of the Chinese nation, the changes of literary styles after the Yan＇ an Symposium on Arts and Literature that took place in the 1940＇ s during the Sino - Japanese War （ 1931 - 1945）. It argues that the transformation was not confined to language styles and the coinage of a few new expressions; instead, the style changes parallel a much more fundamental transformation of modern Chinese culture and the restruction of the power of culture, something of a more fundamental historical nature.
