China and India: Coping with Growing Asymmetry

印度与中国是两个经济发展大国,近年来两国间经济发展差距增大,由于中印的崛起之路不尽相同,经济体发展的差异可以理解为不对称性问题,而非"强"和"弱"问题。双方逐渐扩大的不对称性影响了两国的相互政策,双方需要正视不对称扩大这一事实,避免错位的过激反应造成印中关系出现对抗,双方应该加强理解、扩大合作,让印度和中国一起去追求符合各自情况的发展道路,为21世纪的世界新秩序做出贡献。

China and India are two emerging Asian economies,over the recent years,the economic development gap between two countries is getting wider. Due to different track on development trajectory,the different strengths and weaknesses can be understood as growing asymmetry between these two economies. The growing asymmetry influenced the two countries' mutual policy,both sides should face the fact of asymmetry,to avoid misplaced overreactions leading to confrontation in India's relationship with China. Both sides should enhance mutual understanding and expand cooperation to pursue their development trajectories and to make critical contributions to the twenty-first century world order.
