Possessive Relationship in Double Object Constructions

本文从句法和语义角度分析不同类型的双宾结构中所包含的领属关系,认为从逻辑语义的角度看,这些不同的双宾领属可以归结为两种类型,一种是可以通过逻辑隐含推导出来的双宾领属,另一种则是以预设形式存在的双宾领属。给予类双宾属于前一种类型,而取得类双宾则属于后一种类型。对汉语不同类型的双宾领属的研究可以丰富生成语法对双宾结构中领属关系及其句法、语义和语用特点的认识。

This paper investigates the possessions in Double Object Constructions（DOCs） from both syntactic and semantic perspectives. It is claimed that there are two major types of DOCs, i.e. [＋HAVE]-type and [-HAVE]-type, in Chinese. The possessive relation between the two objects in the [＋HAVE]-type DOCs can be inferred through the logical entailment, whereas the possessive relation between the two objects in the [-HAVE]-type DOCs are indicated by the presupposition, instead of entailment. The study of Chinese DOCs may provide some insights into syntactic, semantic and pragmatic properties of DOCs in general.
