A Reflection on the Development of New Institutionalism in the Organization Theory

组织理论新制度主义的奠基性论文确立的研究主题过于狭窄,概念使用和论证逻辑存在含混模糊之处,限制了该流派后续发展的空间。本文对该流派领军人物斯科特等人关于学派发展的思考进行了评论和反思。文章认为,从学派发展的路径来看,组织理论新制度主义应该从强调制度环境对组织的影响和组织的回应策略,扩展到对制度规则本身的研究,尤其是关注各类制度的运作过程,注重研究制度的微观基础和个人主观认知因素。从研究策略上,需要克服概念和表达方式上的模糊性,从经济学和政治学制度主义中引入新的概念工具和分析方法,形成统一的概念体系和研究范式。

The new institutionalism in organization theory has become one of the main schools in social sciences. How-ever, the research questions in the school are too narrow and the expressions are ambiguous to some degree.This paper argues that the new institutionalism should extend its research questions and scope from institutional impacts to institutions themselves, paying attention to the implementation process and the micro foundations and subjective and cognitive factors of institutions. Meanwhile, scholars should clarify the basic concepts and then form a common paradigm in the interaction with other schools of institutionalism.
