Despite that the Sorge-Ozaki Incident became a familiar story the history in which the story was repeatedly told was far from clear. Through an analysis of various primary sources, this article aims to reveal that in either case the narrative of the story was achieved by the actions of making, sealing up and declassifying archives and both of them shared the same political logic, which must be in turn fully understood against the broad political context of the Cold War as well as the formation of global power structure that started even before the end of the World War Ⅱ.
