摘要
1型糖尿病(T1DM)发病的根本原因在于胰岛β细胞的破坏,抑制或消除患者的自身免疫、增加胰岛β细胞数量是治愈该病的根本方法。通过造血干细胞移植解除自身免疫,重建免疫耐受,多能干细胞向胰岛定向分化以提供移植胰岛来源为治愈T1DM带来了希望。
Type 1 diabetes is a disease caused by autolmmunedestruction of pancreatic β cells. Restoration of immune toler-ance and β cell mass are thus keys to the cure of type 1 diabe-tes. Recent advances in stem cells provided novel therapies fortype 1 diabetes. The use of hematopoietic cell transplantationsuppressed autoimmunity and induced immune tolerance in pa-tients with type 1 diabetes. In addition, improved islet trans-plantation techniques and generation of islets from inducedpluripotent cells provided promising clinical utilization of stemcells towards the cure of type 1 diabetes. In this review, weaimed to provide briefly the background and current clinicalusage of stem cells in the treatment of type 1 diabetes.
