Microbial remediation plays an important role in the control of marine pollution as it can clear up multiple types of contaminants. By using several softwares including Thomson Data Analyzer and CiteSpace, the paper analyses international competitive profile of microbial remediation, and the potential trend of its technology. It concludes that Chinese institutions in this area should strengthen cooperation with others, focus on the research of microbial communities and the development of combinational techniques
