通过对汉英翻译中文化意象问题的探讨,提出汉语文化意象在翻译成英语时要视文体、文化意象的难度等而采用不同的翻译方法。认为汉英翻译文化考量过程中应采用的翻译方法有:保留文化意象,产生异域美感;释解文化纽结,澄清语义难点;淡化文化背景,引入相似联想;形式与风骨并存,杜绝过度释义。

Through the discussion of cultural images in Chinese - English translation, the essay proposes that, when translating Chinese cultural images, different approaches should be adopted based on the styles and types of cultural images. The translation approaches adopted in Chinese - English translation of cultural images, this essay suggests, are as follows： to keep cultural images and to create exotic beauty; to untie cultural knots and to make difficult points easy to understand; to minimize the importance of cultural background and to introduce similar association; to keep form and character together and to avoid excessive paraphrase.
