THE TIME-HONORED JU COUNTY

莒县是块古老的土地,有着悠火的历史。早在新石器时代,就有东夷民族的莒部落先民们在这里繁衍、生息,并创造出光辉灿烂的莒文化,是较早进入人类文明的地区之一。

Ju County is an ancient land with time-honored history.Over thousands of years of development,Ju County formulated a unique and characteristic pre-historical culture,which is known to be one of the three ancient cultures along with Qi culture and Lu culture.There are 8 landscapes,12 scenic views,3 springs,and 4gardens in Fulai Mount Scenic Spot,including slender bamboos,fancy trees,flourishing valley,queer stones,and babbling rivers.Here the 'first ginkgo tree in the world' stands in the middle of the front courtyard of Dinglin Temple with a height of 24.7meters and diameter of 15.7 meters.The tree crown covers 900 square meters.Although it has gone through vicissitudes,the ancient ginkgo tree is still vividly lush and flourishing.Under the ginkgo tree,you may go to Yuedong Door to a quiet yard,which is the middle yard of Dinglin Temple.There is a two-floor building in the inner yard with 'Jiaojing Building' carved on the door plaque,which is written by Guo Moruo in1962.It was the place where Liu Xie proofread the scripture and is now an exhibition hall for Liu Xie.For Fulai Mount,Liu Xie has become an indispensable part.Now,there is a Shenliu Village in Dongguan Town of Ju County.The story is told by villagers for thousands of years.The name was changed because of the meeting with Shen Yue after Liu Xie came home.
