Vannevar Bush＇s Report is the first established national science policy documents in the history of the United States.Through the full description of the need for the university＇s basic research,it opened the prelude to large- scale federal government fund for university research,which promotes the research universities into the new historical period. On the basis of the background and main points of the report,this thesis analyzes the impact of the development of American research universities.
