Bai Chong-xi and Chinese Islamic Association for National Salvation

1938年5月,在白崇禧积极倡导及国民政府的支持下,中国回民救国协会成立,1939年更名为中国回教救国协会,1942年12月又更名为中国回教协会。中国回教救国协会作为抗战时期成立的全国规模最大、组织程度最高、覆盖面最广的回族抗日社团组织,在组织动员回族全民参与抗战及开展国民外交等方面发挥了重要作用。同时中国回教救国协会重视回族文化教育工作;在赈济灾民、发展回族经济方面也采取了一些有效举措。

In May 1938, with the advocate of Bai Chongxi and the support of National Government, the Huis National Salvation Association was established. In 1939, the name changed as Chinese Islamic Association for Na- tional Salvation. In December 1942, the name was altered again as Chinese Islamic Association. Anti-Japanese Organization, Chinese Islamic Association for National Salvation was well organized As the largest Hui and actively exer- cised in many parts of China. It had played an important role in encouraging the Huis to join the Counter-Japanese War and carrying out the national diplomacy. In addition, Chinese Islamic Association attached great importance to culture and education and took some effective measures in victims＇ relief and the development of Hui economy.
