摘要
《一片孤岛》是英籍华裔作家毛翔青以中英鸦片战争为题材创作的一部编史元小说。一方面,小说对一个影响中英两国历史尤其是香港殖民历史的重大事件进行重写;另一方面,中国作为历史的制造者,在小说中却有着反常的再现。借鉴琳达·哈钦关于"编史元小说"这一后现代理论,分析毛翔青如何戏仿编史形式、突出人物对华立场及再现工具的虚构性和片面性,揭露小说在再现中国元素时的悖论,引起读者的思考。
A n Insular Possession is a historiography metafiction with the theme of Sino -British Opium War written by Chinese born English Writer Timothy Mo .On the one hand ,the novel rewrites the major events that influenced the Chinese and British history ,especially Hong Kong's colonial history ;on the oth‐er hand ,as the maker of history ,Chinese has an abnormal reproduction in the novel .This article attempts to analyze the parody of historiography and the relationship between the protagonists'position and the fic‐tionality and incompleteness of their historiography tool ,aimed to reveal the paradox in the reproduction of Chinese elements in order to set readers thinking on this matter .
