Semantic Features and Verb Characteristics of English Typical Resultatives

英语典型动结式和非典型动结式构成了英语动结式这一庞大的家族,诸多学者讨论动结式定义、分类、语义特征有混淆,循环论证之嫌。鉴于此,对一特定类别—英语典型动结式分析讨论很有必要。基于构式语法,从形式和意义上界定英语典型动结式,讨论与其相关的八条语义特征。其次对动词特点的分析表明,只有三价动词、含显性致使义、不含结果义动词、有界动词和动态动词能进入这一结构,以期对之后动结式的研究提供些许建议。

The family of English resultatives is composed of two subclasses：English typical resultatives and nontypical resultatives.Many linguists have mixed up the definition,classification and semantic features of English resultatives and argued for it in a circle.Therefore,it is necessary to discuss the defined category-English typical resultatives.Firstly,this construction will be discussed from the aspects of form and meaning.Then,relevant semantic features and verb characteristic will be identified.In this way,relevant suggestions will be put forward to further research.
