In 'Hard Pan Trilogy',Short Sammy is an important figure,playing a key role in the spiritual life of the heroine Lucky and town residents. This paper analyzes the Jesus characteristics reflected from Sammy,and concludes that he is like an incarnation of Jesus. From this angle,this paper further explains Sammy's role of spiritual mentor and guardian,and his spirit of facing sufferings calmly. The image of Sammy reflects the author's liberal religious view.
