摘要米哈伊尔·普塞洛斯的《编年史》细致描绘了从瓦西里二世至米哈伊尔七世共14位拜占廷帝王的生平,是我们研究11世纪拜占廷帝国历史不可或缺的一份历史资料。作者站在批判的角度,解读书中帝王的各种行为,从公共领域的作为,到私人空间的揭秘,既有生活细节的评议,又有性格特征的分析;通过解析普塞洛斯的"帝王批判",我们可以从中领略这位拜占廷史家的政治理念,进而在更广泛的层面上认识中世纪欧洲知识分子的思想世界。
