以"金元四大家"的医书资料为主要依据,分别对4位名医认识消渴病因病机的思想进行了归纳总结,得出4人理解消渴病的病因包括:阴血衰虚,燥热过甚;三消当从火断;生活无制,相火妄动;脾胃气血津液不足等。病机包括:燥热郁甚,津液不散;三焦受火,始得三消;相火上炎,消于三焦;脾胃不足,血中伏火等。初步形成了其对消渴病因机理论认识的基本框架。
