The engineering practice of the combined process of composite pretreatment and reverse osmosis for treating high salinity wastewater from Yili Power Plant was introduced. The main design idea and the specific operation methods of the composite pretreatment were described. The actual operation data, the running results and the final examining report provided by the third-party testing organization showed that the combined process of composite pretreatment and reverse osmosis could achieve the zero discharge of the treated wastewater. In addition, suggestions for improving the combined process were made.
