天津市南京路今昔——天津英租界路网结构中的“巴洛克”林荫大道

Past and Present of the Nanjing Road in Tianjin:The "Baroque" Avenue in the Road System of British Concession in Tianjin

南京路是天津市的景观大道,位于天津市区的中心位置,是天津市城市形象的标志性窗口地区,可以称为天津人心目中的"天津第一路"。该道路从1945年命名为南京路至今已有近70年的历史,透过其命名便可看出其在天津城市路网结构中扮演的重要角色。然而,南京路作为林荫大道的构想,早在19世纪末天津英租界工部局提出义路金道的规划时就已经确定了。在义路金道建成并改建为南京路的100多年时间里,它作为公共活动的场所在商业领域、政治领域与社交领域等方方面面所扮演的角色,以及它在调节城市公共空间体系与整体结构方面的作用,使其直到今天仍然是天津市城市空间中最具标志性和独特性的公共空间。

Nanjing Road is a Landscape Avenue in the center of Tianjin area. It is the window of Tianjin City and can be called as the First Road in Tianjin. The road named as Nanjing Road near 70 years from 1945 until today. The significant role of Nanjing Road in Tianjin urban road system can be seen through its name. However, the idea of Nanjing Road as a boulevard was identified in 19thcentury when the Tianjin British Municipal Council planned the Elgin Avenue. Over the last 100 years, Elgin Avenue constructed and reconstructed as Nanjing Road. As a place of public events it＇s played in all aspects of commercial area, political sphere and social field and adjusted the urban public space system and the structure of urban. All of those make Nanjing Road as the most iconic and unique public spaces in the urban space in Tianjin until today.
