Postmodernism rejects grand history and grand narrative, but Eco's historiography meta- fiction has regained the ability to make the past become history, in order to re-establish the great moral goal. Eco's novel Name of the Rose, Foucault pendulum and Yesterday's Island discussed the locking of knowledge, the far-fetched knowledge, and the abuse of knowledge In the novels, by mimicking historical biography, Eco revealed knowledge discourse controls the history texts. Postmodern times refusing depth, but these novels rediscovered the past right now and put the profound thought in them.
