Return to Straightforwardness and Simplicity:The Design Records of Jianamani Visitors Center in Yushu,Qinghai Province

青海省玉树是极其重要的宗教中心之一,新寨嘉那嘛呢石堆有25亿块石头,规模为世界之最。嘉那嘛呢游客到访中心是建筑师张利的作品,获得了国内外几项设计大奖。这座仅1100m^2的建筑一方面设有邮局、诊所、嘛呢石研究中心等公共设施,另一方面通过展示空间与观景台对历史文化进行价值诠释;尽管规模较小,却反映了一个中国传统美学的观念:淳厚质朴、不矫揉造作。孔子说:"质胜文则野,文胜质则史。文质彬彬,然后君子。"这个作品堪称内外兼修。

Yushu is one of the most important religious centers in China.There are 2.5billion stones in the new village of Jianamanl,and the scale is the largest in the world.Jianamani Visitors Center is the work of architect Zhang Li,who just won several domestic and international design awards.This small building of 1100 square meters comprises post office,clinic,Mani Stone Research Center and other public facilities on the one hand,and interprets the historical and cultural values through exhibition spaces and viewing desks on the other.In spite of the relatively small size,it reflects a traditional Chinese aesthetic concept：purity,honesty and simplicity.This work could be considered as externally and internally cultivated.
